Dominican Republic Distribution

Our recent distribution in the Dominican Republic was possible with the help of our valued partner, Flight Centre Travel Group and our amazing NGO partner, Global Potential.

The southwest region of the Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful regions in the country. The coastline and landscape are breath-taking and unique to the Dominican Republic.

However, the weather is extremely turbulent, leading to days with a lot of rain or days with a lot of sun.

In the Dominican Republic, Batey communities are typically marginalised, and as a result, experience unreliable access to electricity and basic services. These communities traditionally work in sugar cane fields and include people from Haitian backgrounds.

The lights were distributed to 5 schools in Batey communities in the Dominican Republic.

This distribution was made possible by the efforts of our NGO partner, Global Potential.

Global Potential transforms the lives of youth who come from under-served communities, through education, service learning and cultural exchange into globally competitive leaders of positive change.

The lights were distributed to the students and the teachers took the time to explain how to use them.

550 lights were distributed to students who live without regular access to electricity. These lights will be impacting 2,500 lives, illuminating countless futures!

Big Thank You to our partner, Flight Centre Travel Group!

Thank you for your consistent support and for joining us on our journey of illuminating futures. With your help, students can now study safely after dusk, creating endless educational opportunities!
