Volunteer with SolarBuddy

Depending on the needs of SolarBuddy you could be assisting in a variety of activities during your volunteering session including:

• Quality control of JuniorBuddy or StudentBuddy lights – before our lights are distributed to those that need them, we ensure that they are assembled correctly. Use your problem solving skills and eye for detail to ensure that all the screws are there, the lights work and are ready to be sent to children globally.
• Quality control of letters – Everyone who assembles one of our lights is asked to write a letter to the child receiving it. Use your eye for details to ensure that guidelines have been followed from our LetterBuddy program.
• Letter writing – Letters are an integral and important part of our programs. For many, these letters are the first piece of formal communication that the children will have received outside of their community. They are cherished and read over and over. Occasionally we receive lights back without letters so we will ask you to use your creative skills to write heart warming letters a child receiving a solar solution.
